2011 Toys“R”Us Children's Fund Gala - Carrie Underwood and Martin Short Help ...
On 19th May 2011, leaders from the toy and juvenile products industries joined together to celebrate the 2011 Toys“R”Us Children’s Fund Gala in New York City. The Toys“R”Us Children’s Fund is a public charity affiliated with Toys“R”Us, Inc., and during this special evening of entertainment and fundraising, $5 million was raised to keep children safe and help them in times of need. The star-studded gathering was hosted by Emmy award-winner Carrie Underwood.
At the event, attendees were given a special opportunity to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), an organization that funds pediatric cancer research and helps families with some of the costs associated with cancer treatment. The Toys“R”Us Children’s Fund proudly shined a spotlight on ALSF, which started as a front yard lemonade stand hosted by four-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott and now encourages kids nationwide to work toward Alex’s dream of a cure for all children with cancer – one cup at a time.
