Woman in critical condition after crash on US 131 near West Main Street
OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP — A woman is listed in critical but stable condition today following a rollover crash on U.S. 131 near West Main Street, police said.The woman, who was a passenger, was thrown from the pick-up truck, as was the driver and a Rottweiler, according to a news release from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office.
The driver suffered minor injuries. He and the passenger were taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital.
The dog wandered across the northbound lane of traffic and was later picked up by Kalamazoo County Animal Services and Enforcement and will be returned to its owners, Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Pali Matyas said.
The crash occurred at about 3:15 p.m. after the southbound truck's left rear tire blew out, causing the vehicle to roll over several times.
Police did not release the names of the driver and the passenger or give their hometowns.
