•Q: What do you do?

A: A lot of people get very surprised when they find out what I do. I work at Coca Cola oversee the creative, content development of 26 Coca Cola brands - the juices, water etcetera

•Q: Do you have Coca Cola’s secret recipe?

A: Yes I do, but I’ll have to kill you and anybody else - okay I don’t - nobody has the secret recipe!

•Q: You’ve been called an Ad guru, a twitter king a columnist/blogger. How have you managed to branch out into other avenue?

A: It’s a healthy curiosity I suppose. Everything that I do is not that separate from the kind of person that I am. My philosophy is that - you’ve got to do what is part of who you are so whatever work you do doesn’t feel like an effort when you do it. But of course you still have to put some effort when you’re working on it, but it shouldn’t feel it.

I remember I was being interviewed once, and the founder of the company said to me “tell me, are you a hard worker?” and I didn’t even skip a bit and I said “no.“ So the lady who was sitting next to me said “ How can you say that?” and I explained that when I say that I’m not a hard worker I mean that if I really enjoy doing something, I don’t mind working till three or four in the morning coz I’m having fun and I’m being challenged. So how do I get to do all these things? It’s because I enjoy them.”

•Q: Is it a privilege to be in an industry where you can have multiple diverse jobs?

A: It’s possible to diversify in whatever field you’re in. It’s a matter of realizing what your interests are and where they lie. A lot of people just wait and they say “I’d like to do this” and they don’t do it. Just go and do it and make the mistakes as you go along.

•Q: How possible is it for other SA youth to do the same?

A: It’s possible for everyone, but I think a lot of people are afraid. They make assumptions, they think their bosses are going to tell them “no you can’t do it,” and they allow the fear of those assumptions to paralyze them and stop them from doing the things they want to do.

•Q: Do you think most SA companies are open to sharing their employees with other companies?

A: They don’t own your free time, your free time is your own and you can do what you want with it as long as what you’re doing doesn’t damage your company’s reputation.
