Creative Recipes for the Mighty Spinach

Pick up spinach at your local Poway Farmers Market and enjoy in the following ways:

Drop into you eggs in the morning for breakfast. Drop in whole or chop up. Add salsa for extra flavor. Sprinkle chopped spinach into your next quiche. Add spinach whole leafs to a serving platter with sliced almonds and fresh strawberries. Drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette for an amazingly fresh salad. Cook down pounds of spinach with one diced onion and a couple cloves of diced garlic. Add salt and pepper to taste and use chicken stock to wilt down in your saute pan. Serve with grilled chicken for the optimal match. Next time you’re doing the usual pasta and marinara sauce, add a little spinach. Wilt spinach into your red sauce and toss with pasta. You’re enjoying your carbs and veggies together. Mix spinach in with your next batch of mashed potatoes. Add it to your next hot or cold pasta salad. Use fresh or frozen spinach in any soup, homemade or bought. You’ll be surprised how yummy the taste is and what energy you have the next day.

Homemade Soup Recipes, Easy soups to make after canning and ...

This list of homemade soup recipes are NOT soups that can be canned and stored on the shelf. These are soup recipes using home preserved foods. Home presrved broth and meat, veggies and legumes.

Here is a Tomato Soup Recipe as an example. Note this is for eating NOT storing. Can you tell I really want to be sure you understand that. Since this is a canning website I don't want any confusion.

There are probably a zillion different ways of making soup. Crock pot soups, stove top soups, vegetarian, meat or bean soups. They all fit here. If you use one of these recipes... please leave a comment and tell us how it turned out. If there was anything you adapted or added to spice it up.
